About an hour outside, with the ranch all around you.
Standard guided trail rides last approximately one hour. Weather and trail conditions can affect availability, and the ranch can sometimes customize shorter or longer ride experiences by request.
- Trail rides are offered throughout the year when conditions allow.
- Closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothing are recommended.
- Long pants are recommended because this is a real dirt-and-mud ranch environment.
- Leave expensive phones and cameras behind when possible; guides can help capture photos.
For younger riders
Start small. Build confidence.
The ranch welcomes children who can communicate effectively, with riding or lessons starting around age 3 according to the current JSA Ranch FAQ. Participation always depends on whether riding can be done safely for both the rider and the horse.
For kids who want more than a lesson, the ranch's camp program offers a longer hands-on day around horses and farm life.
