The Help Center

First time visiting a horse ranch? Below you will find an impressive list of common questions and answers that customers tend to ask again and again. If you still can’t find what you’re looking for, please get in touch and we will be happy to assist you. Whether you are wondering what the best day to come is or what kinds of services we offer, we will be happy to provide you with all the information you need.

Are trail rides offered year-round?

Yes, we offer trail rides year-round. However, weather and other conditions can cause us to cancel or need to reschedule rides. Some of our guests enjoy the sun and warmth of summer - and others enjoy a crisp cool fall day to go for a ride. We do our best to offer rides to fit all needs.  We even offer themed rides seasonally throughout the year - so join us for a haunted ride in October and watch our Facebook page for other seasonal announcements.

What should I wear?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing - stay away from garments that are too tight or too loose. We do recommend that you wear pants that cover your legs as well as closed-toed shoes, slip on boots are best, but not required. Remember this experience is in the dirt and sometimes mud depending on recent weather. Wear clothes that can be washed after your experience and that you don't mind getting a little dirty.

Should I bring a camera or phone?

Bringing a phone or camera is not recommended. Due to the nature of horseback riding sometimes being bumpy it is best to leave those expensive devices behind. Don't worry, our trained guides will have a phone in the event of an emergency and to also take and share photos of your experience with you. We are not responsible for lost or damaged personal items while on a trail ride.

How long does a trail ride last?

Our normal guided trail rides last approximately 1 hour. We can also customize a shorter or longer ride experience. If you have a request for a type of ride or have a need just let us know when booking.

Who can participate in a lesson or ride?

Children that can communicate efficiently can ride or take a lesson starting at the age of 3. The age limit beyond that does not exist! So as long as you are in good physical health and you do not have a disability or condition that could make riding unsafe for you or the animal we would love to share our passion with you.

Are packages available for lessons, rides and vacation rentals?

Yes, we offer a discounted rate when you bundle services. Check out our vacation rentals page to see more information about the lodging that is available on property. Don't just visit the ranch, come be part of the family for a few days while you visit the Great Smoky Mountains. Message or call for special rates and packages.

What is the best way to get in touch?

A email or phone call is the preferred way to get in touch with the ranch. Drop us a line to tiffany@jsaranch.com or call 865-454-6150.
